Go PINK to Raise Breast Cancer Awareness

Join the Vacaville Firefighters Association, Layne Family Wines and Hooby’s Brewery in support of the NorthBay Health Cancer Center this October.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and there are many ways you can lend your support, raise awareness and go PINK in Solano County.

For the entire month of October, Layne Family Wines will offer 50 percent off their 2021 Rose of Merlot. Proceeds will be donated to the NorthBay Health Cancer Center.

Contact Beth Layne at (707) 689-5452 to place an order, or email blayne@vitusnapavalley.com.

If beer is more your style, consider signing up to participate in a cornhole tournament at Hooby’s Brewery, 9 East Main Street in Winters. (To be fair, Hooby’s also serves wine and food.) The event is coordinated in partnership with the Northern Solano Association of Realtors.

It costs $60 per team to compete in the tournament, and the proceeds will be donated to NorthBay Health Cancer Center. There are also sponsorship packages available. Call (707) 688-7127 for more information.

And finally, eat some pizza or pasta for a good cause!

The Vacaville Firefighters Association is once again raising money and breast cancer awareness with a “Passionately Pink for a Cure” fundraiser at Pietro’s No. 1 in downtown Vacaville, and 20 percent of the sale of all food items will be donated to the NorthBay Cancer Center.

The event will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 26. Donations will be made on both walk-in and call-in orders, as long as the fundraiser is mentioned.

Special pink T-shirts will also be on sale for $30. Firefighters will be wearing the pink T-shirts as they serve the meals.

The restaurant is located at 407 Cernon St. To place an order, call (707) 446-1771.
