NorthBay Takes Reins of Urgent Care

NorthBay Urgent Care is the perfect alternative to the Emergency Room (shorter waits and lower cost) or when you can't get in to see your regular doctor.

NorthBay Health has relaunched its Urgent Care programs in Vacaville and Fairfield with a laser-focus on delivering the best possible customer service and consistent accessibility, according to Tim Williams, Chief Ambulatory Operations Officer.

NorthBay ended its partnership with a health chain that had been in place since the first NorthBay Health Urgent Care opened in the Nut Tree Plaza in Vacaville in 2017, according to Tim Williams, Chief Ambulatory Operations Officer. The Urgent Care in Fairfield at Solano Town Center Mall opened in March 2020, under the same arrangement, with NorthBay owning the name and management of the operation, while providers and employees answered to the other firm. Unfortunately, it resulted in constant turnover and frequent shutdowns of service that NorthBay could not control.

“The communities we serve rely on NorthBay to deliver convenient, accessible, high quality care that we have become known for over the past 63 years,” said Mark Behl, President and CEO. “With this transition, we have taken back control of the entire operations and experience in both facilities. Our commitment to the communities is to deliver exceptional care – 365 days a year.”

New Urgent Care patients are invited to create an account in the My NorthBay Doc patient portal, so they can quickly see lab results and communicate with their provider after the visit. And if the individual is already a NorthBay Health patient, the new medical record platform will provide instant communication with their primary care physician, fostering continuity and aligned, seamless care, according to Helder Silva, Director of Primary and Urgent Care.

NorthBay plans to embed Urgent Care in medical offices already established in American Canyon and Dixon later this year.

Urgent Care will continue to accept a broad number of insurance plans and offers a self-pay price for those who do not have an accepted plan.

“There won’t be any issues with unexpected closures, going forward,” said Paul McGinty, Chief Experience Officer. “There won’t be closures for lunch breaks, and we won’t be turning people away because there are no appointment slots left in a day. If someone shows up before we close the doors, we’ll be sure to see them.”

Appointments for urgent care can be made online or by calling (707) 624-7400 to make an appointment in Vacaville and (707) 646-4000 to make an appointment in Fairfield. No appointment? No problem, walk-ins are always welcome.
