At NorthBay Healthcare, we provide some of the most advanced diagnostic imaging technology available in the region. In addition to our hospital imaging departments, our outpatient imaging service, Solano Diagnostic Imaging, offers services in several Fairfield and Vacaville locations.

A CT scan - or Computed Tomography - provides imaging that can depict bone structures in fine detail. It can also show differences in normal and abnormal tissue in the brain, lungs, and many other organs.

Interventional Radiology is a radiology specialty that uses minimally-invasive techniques in combination with state-of-the-art imaging to diagnose and treat diseases in nearly every organ in the body. These procedures have less risk, less pain and less recovery time compared to open surgery.

MRI — or Magnetic Resonance Imaging — creates a magnetic field that produces images of soft tissue, bone, and other body structures without radiation. It captures multiple cross-section images and combines them into three-dimensional pictures, allow them to be viewed at various angles on a computer.

In nuclear medicine, safe doses of radioactive materials are used to diagnose and treat ailments. SPECT cameras, for example, can visualize as much as 10 times more detail than other medicine procedures.

PET - or Positron Emission Tomography - produces images that help to reveal the presence of disease, particularly cancerous disorders. PET is especially useful because the scans can detect biochemical changes in an organ or tissue long before more obvious indicators arise.

Ultrasound offers imaging from sound waves that bounce off of organs and tissues and are then converted into electronic pictures by computers.

NorthBay provides a wide spectrum of women's diagnostic imaging in a space specifically designed to respect the privacy and comfort of women, including:

X-ray machines help physicians to detect conditions such as broken bones, trace kidney function, lung disorders, as well as examine the intestinal tract and other internal systems.
