Where Patient Care Meets Environmental Responsibility
At NorthBay Health, caring for our communities goes beyond the walls of our hospitals. It means creating a healthier future—for every patient, every family, and every generation to come.
We’re taking bold, practical steps to reduce our environmental impact while continuing to deliver the safe, high-quality care you trust. By rethinking how we use energy, manage our facilities, and invest in smarter solutions, we’re building a stronger, more resilient health system—one designed to serve you today and tomorrow.
From expanding EV charging to advancing solar and battery storage, we’re turning possibility into action. Alongside trusted partners like ecom-energy inc. and Nobell Energy, we’re making meaningful progress toward a more sustainable future.
Sustainability in Action
Real change starts with understanding where we are—and where we can go. We’re measuring our energy use and emissions so we can make smarter, more impactful decisions every day.
Benchmarking
We keep a close eye on how our facilities use electricity, water, and natural gas. This insight helps us uncover opportunities, improve performance, and ensure we’re using resources responsibly.
Energy Efficiency
We always look for ways to use less energy without compromising care. By upgrading building systems, refining controls, and using smart automation, we’re reducing energy use while strengthening how our facilities perform every day.
EV Charging
We help make cleaner transportation more accessible by offering EV charging for our employees and our community. We continue to expand our network to meet growing demand and support a more sustainable way to travel.
Carbon Accounting
We take a clear, data-driven path to reducing our carbon footprint. By setting measurable goals and tracking our progress, we’re working to lower emissions, conserve water, and reduce waste across our system. Through the ecomEmissions platform, we report our Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions in alignment with leading global standards.
Solar & Battery Storage
We plan to use solar panels and battery storage systems to reduce our reliance on the grid and keep our facilities running strong. With more than 5 MW of projects already underway, we’re continuing to explore new ways to bring resilient, clean energy to our campuses.
Regulatory Compliance
Accountability builds trust. That’s why we’re committed to tracking our progress, sharing our results, and meeting important regulatory requirements, including:
