Ian Fauconier, MD
Urologic Surgery, Urology, Urologic OncologyI’ve always known I wanted to be a surgeon. My passion for this career began when I was five years old. Even as a child, I pictured myself wearing surgical scrubs and working as a surgeon, exploring the amazing details of the human body.
I discovered my interest in urologic surgery during my first year of medical school. While working on research, I learned about urology and met an energetic urologist who loved his work. His positive and hands-on approach inspired me. At that moment, I realized urology was the perfect field for me.
I help treat medical and surgical problems of the urinary system. This includes issues with the kidneys, bladder, and prostate, as well as some types of cancer. My patients come from all age groups, from newborns to older adults. I’m proud to care for people of all ages.
As a doctor, I see myself as trustworthy, skilled, and easy to talk to. I know these qualities help my patients feel safe and confident in my care. My patients often say they like my warm and friendly approach. I always greet them with a smile and make sure to listen to their concerns.
One of my favorite parts of being a doctor is helping people feel better. I’ll never forget one patient who couldn’t enjoy sitting on her new sofa because of a bladder problem. After treating her, she told me how happy she was to relax again. Seeing her joy made me feel so rewarded.
When I’m not working, I enjoy trail running, skiing, and snowboarding. I’m new to the area and can’t wait to explore the local trails and outdoor activities.
I’m a member of professional groups like the American Medical Association, the American Urological Association, and the American College of Surgeons. I focus on less invasive treatments and care for conditions like cancer, kidney stones, and incontinence.
My goal is to provide expert, caring treatment for all my patients.
