Women’s HOPE Group Awards $57K to Specialty Programs and New Technology at NorthBay Health

NorthBay Health Women’s HOPE group is excited to announce its 2024 grant funding, awarding $57K to specialty programs and new technology at NorthBay Health. Women’s HOPE is a networking group that was established in 2022 and is focused on Health, Opportunity, Philanthropy, and Engagement. The group aims to build a network of local and like-minded women who are passionate about making a difference in their community’s health and wellbeing through collective philanthropy and engagement.
Throughout the year, Women’s HOPE members come together to learn from many of NorthBay Health’s esteemed physician experts and leaders. These gatherings offer valuable insights on a wide range of topics, including heart and vascular health, the latest trends in women’s health, and pain management strategies. They also highlight the work NorthBay Health is doing to address the community’s ongoing healthcare needs. All members of Women’s HOPE donate $1,000/year and those pooled donations are used annually for grants to meet needs within NorthBay Health. Ideas for the 2024 grant cycle were solicited directly from colleagues throughout the organization, reflecting the group’s commitment to addressing these challenges and making lasting impacts on the community.
This funding will enhance vital programs and enable the acquisition of new technologies to improve care for patients at NorthBay Health. In particular, the 2024 grants will focus on supporting:
- Expansion of the Pelvic Floor Therapy Program, including continuing education for two therapists and additional medical supplies and equipment,
- Purchase of a Sherlock 3CG Tip Confirmation System to improve outcomes and focus on efficiency and patient comfort when placing PICC lines and to be used in conjunction with an ultrasound to confirm PICC placement avoiding the need for chest x-rays, and
- The outfit of all clinical OBGYN offices with critical Fetal Non-Stress-Test Machines and NST Recliners to improve patient access and quality of care.
“On behalf of the members of Women’s HOPE, I am thrilled to announce our latest, and first, round of grant funding and the specific programs across NorthBay Health that will benefit from these financial resources,” said Katie Lydon, Women’s HOPE steering committee member and nurse leader. “With two of the three of our selected programs focusing on women’s health conditions, we’re addressing existing gaps in women’s and maternal health and working towards a better, healthier future for all.”
Women’s HOPE is looking for new members that are interested in giving back to the community and contributing to positive healthcare outcomes. Visit our Women’s HOPE page if you’re interested in joining or learning more.
