NorthBay Health Named Official Healthcare Partner of Sonoma Raceway

Sonoma Raceway and NorthBay Health today announced a new multi-year partnership designating NorthBay Health as the Official Healthcare Partner of Sonoma Raceway.

As part of the partnership, NorthBay Health will receive naming rights to the raceway’s highly regarded Teen Safe Driving Program, now rebranded as the Teen Safe Driving Presented by NorthBay Health. The program is designed to equip young, inexperienced drivers with the skills and confidence needed to navigate today’s roads safely and responsibly.

Hosted at Sonoma Raceway, the program combines classroom instruction with hands-on driving exercises led by professional instructors in a controlled environment. Participants gain real-world experience in accident avoidance, hazard recognition, and defensive driving techniques — critical tools for building safer driving habits early on.

NorthBay Health’s presence will be integrated throughout the program and raceway, including branding, community engagement initiatives, and a presence at major events such as NASCAR and National Hot Rod Association (NHRA).

“Young drivers are some of the most vulnerable people on our roads, and the Teen Safe Driving Program is taking meaningful action in addressing the risks they face,” said Mark Behl, President and CEO of NorthBay Health. “As a health system, we see the consequences of preventable accidents firsthand. Partnering with Sonoma Raceway gives us the opportunity to get ahead of those tragedies – reaching young people before an emergency room visit ever becomes necessary.”

“Partnering with NorthBay Health allows us to elevate one of our most impactful community programs,” said Brian Flynn, Executive Vice President & General Manager of Sonoma Raceway. “The Teen Safe Driving Program has helped thousands of young drivers build critical skills behind the wheel, and with NorthBay Health’s support, we can expand that mission even further. Together, we’re committed to promoting safer roads and making a meaningful difference for families throughout our region.”

NorthBay Health is a recognized leader in community-focused healthcare, committed to improving the well-being of the populations it serves through innovation, education, and preventive care. Through this partnership, NorthBay Health extends its impact beyond traditional healthcare settings, supporting programs that proactively promote safety and injury prevention among young drivers.

This collaboration reflects Sonoma Raceway’s continued commitment to aligning with trusted, community-driven organizations that enhance both public safety and the overall raceway experience. With NorthBay Health’s support, the Teen Safe Driving Program will continue to expand its reach and deliver meaningful, life-saving education to families across Northern California.
