Nurse Camp Apps on Tap for Local High School Students

Nurse Camp is returning this August for up to 20 local high school students.

Two student from a previous Nurse Camp learning how to use a surgical camera on a cantaloupe.NorthBay Health’s Nurse Camp, a must-do for Solano County teenagers considering a clinical career — will return in August — three years after the annual event was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Applications are being accepted now through June 11.

The popular hands-on program will be slightly scaled back from previous years — three days instead of four and limited to 20 local students. It will take place Aug. 1-3.

Only local high school students in the graduating classes of 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 are eligible.

A previous Nurse Camp student peering into a surgical microscope.Applicants must get their parent’s signed permission, write one paragraph on the topic “Why I would like to attend Nurse Camp,” and obtain a letter of recommendation from a teacher, school counselor or employer.

Applications must be received via email to NurseAcademy@NorthBay.org no later than June 11.
