NorthBay Health Honors Exceptional Nurses with DAISY Awards

The DAISY Award acknowledges the excellence, kindness, and commitment that nurses bring to their jobs each and every day.

NorthBay Health, a leading healthcare system providing advanced and compassionate care to address critical, unmet healthcare needs throughout California’s North Bay, announced that three nurses have received the DAISY Awards for Extraordinary Nurses.

The DAISY Award is sponsored by The Daisy Foundation and is a prestigious, national program that honors and recognizes the excellence, kindness, and commitment that nurses bring to their jobs each and every day. Our most recent recipients, Lindsay Ross, Erin Brooks, and Adriana Jimenez, were nominated by their colleagues, patients, and community members for delivering for patients and their families.

“Lindsay, Erin, and Adriana are the true embodiment of excellence in the nursing profession - going above and beyond in their dedication, integrity, and compassionate care for patients. As the first person that many of our patients interact with, our nurses are at the heart of our organization and make a difference every day,” said Heather Resseger, SVP, Chief Hospital Operations Officer & Chief Nursing Officer at NorthBay Health. “On behalf of the entire NorthBay family, we celebrate and thank Lindsay, Erin, and Adriana for the passion, courage, and thoughtfulness that they bring to their work.”

NorthBay Health takes pride in its high-performing nursing program, which strives to provide accessible and high-quality patient care and offers significant professional development opportunities to advance the profession. In 2024, NorthBay received the prestigious Magnet with Distinction award - one of the highest honors in nursing and a testament to the collaborative and innovative nursing practices at NorthBay.

The DAISY Foundation was created by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who suffered an autoimmune disease, Immune Thrombocytopenia. It was the first program of its kind to give patients, families, and co-workers a way to express their gratitude to nurses for providing compassionate care to patients and their families. Since then, The DAISY Award has become a strategic tool for nurse recruitment, retention, and resilience that has been adopted by thousands of healthcare organizations and schools of nursing in the U.S. and around the world.
