Our Program Goals

Our pharmacy residency training aims to create well-rounded, competent clinical pharmacists with a solid clinical and operational foundation that can seamlessly launch them into a wide variety of pharmacy career paths. Our graduates will be prepared to:

  • Provide patient care
  • Assume leadership roles
  • Seek board certification
  • Pursue PGY2 residencies

We are actively pursuing re-accreditation from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) for our PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency and are currently at pre-candidate status.

Structure of our Program

  • Orientation will provide the resident with a variety of experiences to set the year up for success
  • Longitudinal Experiences include Research, Clinical Administration and Operations
  • Core Clinical Experiences* include:
    • Ambulatory Care
    • Critical Care
    • Medical/Surgical
    • Medication Safety/Transitions of Care
    • Oncology
    • Pharmacy Operation Hospital Practice
    • Practice Management/Administration
  • Elective Experiences include advanced experiences in an area of interest including Practice Management/Administration, Oncology, Medication Safety/Transitions of Care, Critical Care and Ambulatory care
  • *Note: While unlikely, experiences may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary: $72,280
  • Medical, dental, and vision

Application Requirements

  • Participate in the ASHP National Matching Service and submit applications through PhORCAS
  • Provide pharmacy school transcript
  • Obtain California Pharmacist licensure by October 1st of the residency year
  • Have US Citizenship or residency
  • Provide a Letter of Intent
  • Provide a Curriculum Vitae
  • Provide 3 Letters of Recommendation (1 from employer and 2 from APPE preceptors)
  • Participate in an in-person interview
